Crystals come in a variety of types, sizes & shapes which can become a little confusing when deciding which is the better option for you. Some crystals are naturally shape like points & geodes whereas some are polished into shapes like wands & eggs, but each shape harnesses energy differently which means they can be more beneficial to use in certain crystal healing processes. There are lots of different shapes crystals can be polished into but we’ve decided to just focus on the most popular in this post.
Geode
Geodes are natural and found like this. They can vary in size, shape and crystal quite drastically from quartz geodes to agate geodes there is a wide spectrum of these crystals. A geode is a crystal encased within a cave or matrix with multi terminated points. Geodes are fantastic for energising a space due to them containing energy within the geode. For example Quartz Geodes will create a flow of chi energy when placed in a room.
Cluster
Crystal clusters again are natural and come from the earth like this, they come in so many different kinds of crystal for example amethyst. A cluster is multi terminated points within one crystal, usually on matrix (natural rock). Clusters are great for recharging other crystals, you can place smaller crystals on to a crystal cluster for 24 hours and this will give your crystals an energy boost. They are also great for bringing peace and harmony to a space aswell as their individual energies, for example Amethyst will create a protective shield.
Point
Crystal points can be natural or sculpted into shape, you can usually tell if they are polished as natural points tend not to have perfectly flat bottoms so don’t stand up very well. This includes Points, Towers, Obelisks & Flames Crystal. Points are good for directing energy, the pointed tip of a crystal tower is often believed to direct and focus energy, making it useful for meditation, visualization, and energy work. It's thought to help channel intentions and manifest desires. They are also good for Space cleansing, crystal towers are often used to cleanse and purify spaces by dispersing negative energy and promoting positivity. Crystal points are also great for amplifying the energies of other crystals or objects placed near them. They can enhance the effectiveness of crystal grids, rituals, or healing sessions.
Wand
Similar to crystal points a wand can be used to focus energy more precisely, however wands tend to be smaller and fit better in your hand for when working on yourself. They are great for chakra healing & balancing practices, allowing you to focus energy onto specific chakras to promote energy flow. They are also ideal for clearing a space of negative energy, allowing positivity to flow into the area and purify the space. They may be waved or pointed in specific directions or used in conjunction with other cleansing tools, such as sage or incense. Plus waving a crystal wand during meditation can enhance focus, intention, and spiritual connection. You can get various different shapes and sizes of wands but we stick to the hexagonal single terminated wands.
Sphere/Orb
Crystal Spheres or Orbs are sculpted into shape by polished a large piece of crystal, these are perfect for meditation as they direct energy in all different directions equally, also fab for putting on a work desk when you need a little pick me up. They also make great centre pieces for crystal grids.
Egg
Crystal Eggs are polished in to shape and are not natural. Crystals Eggs are great for reflexology and meditation due to the shape naturally fitting into the palm of your hand. They can also direct the energy through the top of the egg. The egg is a sign of rebirth which means they are especially good to work with when beginning a new chapter in life and entering a phase of transformation.
Tumbled
Tumbled gemstones are really popular due to them being small enough to carry with you wherever you go. These little crystals are put into a tumbling machine which polishes them into small smooth crystals, they are also fab for Chakra work as they are small enough to place on the Chakras. This is a really good crystal option for when you need a pick me up but don’t have time for meditating.
Angel
A crystal guardian angel, what better way to bring comfort & protection. A crystal carved into the shape of an angel will of course bring you closer to the spiritual realms and help with guidance, allowing you to follow the energy of the crystal to where you need to be in your journey.
Animals
Ever heard of spirit animals? When crystals are carved into the shape of an animal, it can create a powerful synergy between the energetic properties of the crystal and the symbolism of the animal spirit, all of our crystal animals have strong links between the crystal energy & energy of that animal, ultimately enhancing that energy.
Hearts
Crystals carved into heart shapes hold deep symbolic meaning and can serve as powerful tools for expressing love, promoting emotional healing, and aligning with the energy of the heart chakra. The heart shape is also associated with the power of intention and manifestation. Crystals carved into heart shapes can serve as tangible symbols of our deepest desires, intentions, and aspirations.
